As a society our goal is to bring more engineering and technology education into the Northern Region. However, we also know that even if we bring education to the North, we have to have youth that want to fill those programs. In 2013 our society (in partnership with National Research Council of Canada) received funding to create a presentation to go into schools to educate and inspire kids to think about engineering and technology careers.
Do you remember having someone that inspired you to become an engineer or technologist?
It is important that as professionals we inspire and engage children at a young age. We need to keep the conversations flowing about how science, technology, engineering and math (STEM subjects) fits into the world around them. They need to be curious, excited and continue to stay in these subjects to become our future engineers or technologist.

We understand that you are busy and your career can be very demanding. This is why we have designed a system that is an easy to follow presentation. You can choose to use your own personal experience and stories (or just use the script that we provide). Training is also provided. It is a fun way to give back and also develop professional skills at the same time.
