Prince George Popsicle Bridge Building Contest 2018

February 14, 2018 By admin Leave a Comment

In celebration of the upcoming National Engineering and Geoscience Month (March 2018) challenge your friends or colleagues to see who can build the stronger bridge! This is a fun event for all ages. In addition to the bridge contest there will be fun engineering and geoscience booths to check out.

Bring your constructed bridge to the event on April 7, 2018. The goal is to construct the strongest bridge possible with a maximum 100 Popsicle sticks and all-purpose white glue. The sticks must be left whole; otherwise the design of the bridge is left up to the competitor. See the 2018 rules and guidelines for further information about the contest.

There will be awards for the top three bridges in each category, as well as prizes for the best-looking bridge. Bridge building packages are available for pick-up, please contact us at ci@egbc.ca, or come visit us at our table in Pine Centre Mall on March 17th. If school classes or other group organizations are wishing to enter multiple teams drop-off of supplies can be arranged.

If interested in participating send your completed registration form to ci@egbc.ca. The contest rules and guidelines are available on our website, www.egbc.ca/ci. Please register by March 30, 2017.
